About Us
Church Planting Alberta leadership team members are affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren Church of AB. Our vision is to be a catalyst for gospel-centred church planting throughout the province. While the majority of churches we fund affiliate with the Mennonite Brethren “tribe”, we recognize that no single denomination is going to reach the province alone! Therefore we intentionally network with a variety of church planters from various denominations and backgrounds, who share our values. We are committed to the establishing of Gospel-Centred, Spirit-Led, Mission-Focused churches regardless of the denominational label. This partnership can include shared training, leadership counsel, assessment, coaching, and funding.
We believe that there are many valid distinctives that denominations bring to the table. We affirm the need and the benefit for each denomination to maintain their particular perspective. However, we acknowledge that the “distinctives” that in the past have often divided us are far smaller in number than the huge amount of agreement we share around orthodox-evangelical doctrine. We believe that as we focus on the great agreement between us, our impact on the nation will be multiplied!
